Tara grew up passing perm rods to her grandma in her kitchen and sweeping hair for her mom at the salon on weekends. Doing hair is part of her DNA.
At 18 she moved from Kelowna to the "big city" (Vancouver) to further her training at London School of Hairdressing and continues education herself, drawing from all aspects of art to advance her craft. Tara started her career in 1997. From 2002-2019 she co-owned her own salon in central Lonsdale, North Vancouver called Mira Studios. She became a certified fashion designer through Vancouver Community College in 2009. Combining all her skill sets she loves to collaborate with her clients to build on-trend looks that truly reflect who they are. " I believe that looking great empowers self confidence. Helping people love the way they look is one of the most gratifying parts of my work." Tara and her family moved to Penticton April 2020. Many summers prior were spent vacationing and playing on Skaha Lake. When making the decision on where to create a well rounded lifestyle for raising the kids, Penticton checked all the boxes. "It's been a joy to meet the community through the chair. I've been doing hair for 27 years and still look forward to all the conversations of the day, and simply making people feel good. I'm grateful for my work." |
